Bhagwati Chaudhary has been honored for her unparalleled contribution to the
promotion of democratic values and national integrity in Nepal.
The UK's World Book of Records has honored MP Chaudhary, who is also a former
minister, by organizing a special program at the House of Commons, the British
Parliament, in Westminster. It is said that MP Chaudhary was honored for her
'unparalleled contribution to the promotion of democratic values and national
integrity for the betterment of society.' MP Chaudhary was honored at a program
organized on Mangsir 17 (December 2).
Speaking after being honored, MP Chaudhary said that when he came to politics
through the social and economic sectors, he took the lead in the objective of
social transformation and women's upliftment. Stating that he will always be
active in the economic, social, cultural, and geographical development and
promotion of the country, MP Chaudhary said that he was proud to be honored.
He said that although the 2072 BS constitution has ended all kinds of
discrimination, there are still discriminations in the society due to poverty
and illiteracy, adding that social, economic, and political inequality exists
due to poverty. ‘Although the new constitution of Nepal has ended all kinds of
discrimination and inequality, due to the weak implementation, there are
discriminations in the society due to illiteracy and poverty. There are
traditional and cultural discriminations. Women are lagging behind in the
economic sector. Everyone should work from their own place to end all those
discriminations.’ Minister Chaudhary thanked the World Book of Records, an
organization that honors him, and said that he will continue to work for social
transformation and economic empowerment through politics and social service in
the coming days.
MP Chaudhary, who is also a campaigner for women's economic empowerment, has
also contributed to the writing of the constitution as an expert member in the
2064 BS Constituent Assembly. Chaudhary, who has been continuously working for
women's economic empowerment and social service for 30 years, is a central
member of the CPN-UML. She has been working to spread awareness among rural
women against social and cultural discrimination through the Rural Women's
Avidity Development Forum (Forward Nepal) and has been connecting women to
economic empowerment.
She has been working for the economic advancement of poor, disadvantaged, and
backward women through Forward Microfinance and Forward Nepal, microfinance
programs, financial literacy, skill-based training, etc. Currently, as a member
of the House of Representatives, Leader Chaudhary has been playing an important
role in the formulation of social, economic, and class discrimination and
equitable laws.
