A 5-day field course on 'Biology and Global Health: Human-Environment Interface' has started under the organization of Nepal Engineering College (nec) Faculty of Natural Resources Management.

Dr. Maheshwar Dhakal, Director General of the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, inaugurated the training that started at the Center for Postgraduate Study of the college at Lalitpur. Inaugurating the training Dr Dhakal highlighted that the students who study natural resources should be disciplined and hard-working .

The chief guest of the program Dr. Dhakal expressed that if human responsibility is disciplined in terms of protecting nature, it will help in protecting natural resources and biological diversity. He emphasized that students and researchers to study and research to raise the economic level of Nepal by exposing the biological diversity that makes Nepal known to the world.  In addition, he also said that the researchers and scientists of the world can be called upon to research Nepal's biological diversity and natural resources.

The special guest and head trainer of the program Prof Dr. Randall Kyes from the University of Washington expressed his pleasure at being able to train at Nepal Engineering collegthis year. In training, along with the theoretical knowledge of research, training on experimental methods and tools will be given. Dr. Kyes has been doing field course with Nepalese scholars and students from few years in biological conservation and natural resources in Nepal.

Dr. Laxman Khanal, Associate Professor of the Tribhuwan University, thanked the students of the University for participating in the field course and said that only a training is solution to learn  everything, but students should learn how to move forward in research and study. We need to focus to explore the subjects that can be introduced to the world through research.

 Mr. Durga Bhandari, thevice-Principal of nec, and chairperson of the program said that the students should focus not only on the curriculum but also on the study and research to make Nepal economically, educationally, and scientifically rich by using Nepal's natural resources and biological diversity. He further expressed his happinessthat the college is taking students from other University and colleges to participate  in the field courses and research.

The program coordinator of the Natural Resource Management Program, Dr. Narayan Koju enlightened on the program and gave information about the activities going to carry during the 5-days field course. In addition, he expressed that the participants will learn about how to use the world's experience in the context of Nepal, how to protect Nepal's biological diversity from the world's experience, and how to use biodiversity and the environment for the benefit of mankind by learning from the negative effects between humans and the environment.

 In the field course, scholars of various subjects will are present as resource persons.

In the field course, there are 42 participants: 25 graduate and 17 undergraduate students  from 10 educational institutions of 5 niversities,.
